Cap cambered (003)
This cover for water fittings is precision-manufactured, then polished and chrome-plated to a high gloss. It ensures an aesthetic appearance and reliably protects the fitting from external influences.
Challenge
Manufacturing is challenging because the shape is not rotationally symmetrical in the base, which leads to material compression at the edges. In addition, the bottom edge must be cut at an angle to ensure a perfect fit and an attractive design.
Solution
The cover is formed by deep drawing with a domed bottom. A special deep drawing tool with brakes optimises the material flow to minimise deformation. A side hole is then punched and the lower edge is bevelled.
