Vent duct (090)
The channel is an important component of the Ariane 5 rocket. It collects condensation and sucks it out during launch using the Venturi effect. Made of aluminium, it remains lightweight, while forming and embossing provide high stability. The edge with holes is precisely adapted to the uneven surface of the rocket.
Challenge
Manufacturing requires the utmost precision in order to create a lightweight aluminium component that remains stable, supports the Venturi effect and fits perfectly to the uneven surface of the rocket.
Solution
The channel is manufactured using deep drawing and 3D laser technology to ensure a precise, stable structure with exact holes for a perfect fit.
