Cover cap (028)
This cover ensures electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for shielding vacuum sensors. It is mounted on the housing without screws, thanks to a precise bead that enables a force-fit click-in assembly – similar to plastic housings.
Challenge
The manufacture of the cover requires exceptional precision, as the bead must adhere to a tolerance of only 0.02 mm for a secure click-fit assembly. This tight tolerance is crucial to ensure a secure connection without screws
Solution
The cap is drawn from high-quality material to create the basic shape and then precisely trimmed to achieve exact contours. This is followed by precision beading, in which the bead is manufactured with a tolerance of 0.02 mm to ensure a force-fit connection. Finally, the cap is punched to integrate additional openings or structures.
