Cover to heat funnel (041)
This cover is used in cryptotechnical thermal bridges and features a cone that is only half as thick as the outer wall. Folding the material in the middle (double thickness) increases stability in this area, which is crucial for demanding applications.
Challenge
The challenge lies in precisely shaping the cone, which must remain thin yet stable, and in ensuring a robust structure that can withstand the thermal and mechanical stresses encountered in cryptotechnical applications.
Solution
The lid is drawn from chrome steel, beaded and embossed to create the basic shape and structure. The cone is then pressed and turned to achieve half the thickness while maintaining stability.
