Air extractor duct (101)
This channel is a component of the Ariane 5 rocket that collects condensation and extracts it during launch using the Venturi effect. Made of aluminium, it remains lightweight, while forming and embossing provide high stability. The edge with holes is precisely adapted to the uneven surface of the rocket.
Challenge
Manufacturing requires the utmost care and expertise to create a lightweight aluminium component that supports the Venturi effect and ensures a precise fit to the uneven rocket surface.
Solution
The channel is drawn and manufactured using 3D lasers to create a stable, precisely shaped structure with perfect holes.
