Ring lights (094)
Special challenge: The weld seam must not be visible, so it is pressed (instead of rolled and welded). The groove still has 1 mm to the outer wall. Weld on studs with a non-planar surface. The illuminated ring is manufactured in 3 versions: D 475mm / 500mm / 600mm.
This project can be viewed at Zurich Airport.
Challenge
Solution
The ring is pulled, stretched and cut off. The groove is then screwed in and the base turned off, after which the bolts can be welded on. Finally, the surface is sanded and the whole thing is anodised.
