Pedestal (011)
This stand is specially designed for use in poorly lit areas of aircraft. Thanks to its high-quality chrome plating, it reflects and amplifies the available light, significantly improving visibility in dark areas.
Challenge
The manufacture of a chrome-plated stand places high demands on manufacturing precision. When punching the chrome, no scratches or surface defects may occur in order to ensure light reflection and the aesthetic quality of the component. In addition, the chrome plating must be resistant and durable in order to withstand the demanding conditions in aviation.
Solution
The base is made of sturdy steel, which is first pressed and stamped to achieve the desired shape. Finally, the component is chrome-plated to a high gloss to achieve a flawless surface that reflects light optimally. This manufacturing method minimises scratches and ensures a durable, aesthetically pleasing surface that meets the high demands of aviation.
